Meet your Gamesmaster

Hi, I'm Alice Turner, a professional human with a passion for keeping users at the heart of digital products and services. Over my career I've produced interactive content for museums and exhibition spaces, digital services for UK government departments, and managed multimedia production for publishers and corporate events agencies. I've worked on projects big and small for clients and employers from tiny start-ups to huge multinationals.

Adventures in Service Design is a synthesis of all the most impactful methods and principles that I've learned over my 15+ years of experience in human-centred digital design, UX/UI and digital service management. This course delivers all this via a series of role-playing scenarios in an array of fantasy worlds to create a unique learning experience that isn't just flashy fun - it's a powerful tool (you know, like a wizard's staff or raygun).

The journey begins...

I created Adventures in Service Design because it's the workshop I wanted to take myself. I've taken hundreds of courses over the years; some very useful, but many sadly lacking in energy and purpose. I've found myself in many rooms (both physical and virtual) with other hapless participants as we fumbled our way through frantic exercises that had no clear outputs and then largely fell asleep while presenters read a lot of bland jargon from cluttered presentation slides.

Death by PowerPoint is definitely a thing.

ASD offers something different: By transforming professional training through fantasy roleplay scenarios, I create unique workshops that foster creativity and skills development for both private and public sector professionals.

My unique approach allows participants to relax, have a bit of fun, and acquire new skills that can be applied to a multitude of real-world challenges.
